Achieve beautiful pastel colors combined with maximum durability and shine for your home’s exterior using Valspar Supreme Edge Exterior Paint & Primer Semi-Gloss Pastel Base. This advanced 100% acrylic formula provides outstanding protection and a highly washable, lustrous finish.
Please Note: This is a Pastel Base paint. It is formulated specifically to be tinted with colorant at the point of purchase to achieve your desired light or pastel shade. It cannot be used untinted or for deep colors.
Once tinted, enjoy fade-resistant pastel color with a finish that offers exceptional resistance to moisture, stains, and dirt, making it perfect for trim, doors, or even siding in lighter shades where high cleanability is desired. Engineered to resist cracking and peeling, it also provides a mold- and mildew-resistant finish. Remember, the high sheen requires excellent surface preparation.
Recommended Surfaces: Properly prepared exterior surfaces including wood, hardboard, aluminum siding, vinyl siding*, masonry, brick, stucco, cement composition panels, and primed metal. Especially good for trim/doors needing a durable pastel. Not for use on floors. (Note on Vinyl Siding: Do not paint vinyl siding with a color darker than the original color.)
Surface Preparation: Remove surface contaminants with an appropriate cleaner, rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry completely. Scrape away loose or peeling paint and sand damaged areas smooth. Dull glossy surfaces by sanding. Ensure surfaces are very smooth. Seal stains (rust, tannin bleed, etc.) with an appropriate stain-blocking primer before painting. Caulk around windows, doors, and other openings after spot priming any bare surfaces. Knots and some woods (like redwood, cedar) contain tannins; the first coat may show some staining, but a second coat will typically provide a uniform appearance. If staining persists, spot prime severe areas with a quality stain-blocking primer.
Application Instructions: Stir paint thoroughly before and during use. If using multiple containers, intermix them to ensure uniform color. Apply only when paint, surface, and air temperatures are between 35°F and 90°F (2°C – 32°C) and expected to remain so during the entire application and drying time. Do not paint if temperatures are expected to drop below 35°F (2°C) within 48 hours of application. Avoid painting in direct, hot sun, or when heavy dew or precipitation is expected within the next 2.5 hours. Apply using a quality brush, roller, or airless sprayer according to manufacturer’s directions.
Clean-up & Disposal: Clean tools and spills immediately with warm, soapy water. Do not pour unused paint down the drain. Consult local authorities for proper disposal and recycling methods in your area.
