This ~1-Gallon (3.66L) Pastel Base provides a durable Satin finish with a subtle luster and features a Zero VOC* formula, promoting better indoor air quality. (Colorants added will increase VOC level slightly)
Please Note: This is a Pastel Base. It must be tinted at the point of purchase with colorants to create your desired light or pastel shade. It cannot be used untinted or for deep colors.
Once tinted, Pro-Hide Gold Ultra delivers a smooth, uniform finish ideal for efficient application via spray, brush, or roller on large jobs. Its durable formula ensures dependable hide and coverage in pastel hues, combined with enhanced washability from the satin sheen and the line’s excellent touch-up capabilities.
Recommended Surfaces:Properly prepared interior walls, trim, and ceilings of previously painted or bare drywall, plaster, masonry, wood, and primed metal.
Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean the surface and allow it to dry completely. Remove any existing wallpaper and all loose or peeling paint. Scrape and sand damaged paint areas smooth. Ensure glossy surfaces are sanded dull for proper adhesion.
Application Instructions: Stir tinted paint thoroughly before and during application. Crucially, intermix (box) multiple pails tinted to the same color before starting application to ensure absolute color consistency across the entire large project. Apply only when surface, air, and product temperatures are between 50°F and 90°F (10°C – 32°C). Use a premium-quality brush, a synthetic roller cover (e.g., 3/8″ – 1/2″ nap), or an airless sprayer (Recommended: 2000 PSI, .015″ – .019″ tip). Thinning not typically required. If rolling, paint the ceiling first, then walls. Work in manageable sections, applying paint in an “N” or “W” pattern, then finish with light, even roller strokes in one direction. Some pastel colors may require multiple coats.
Clean-up & Disposal: Clean tools and spills immediately with warm, soapy water. Do not pour unused paint down the drain. Consult local authorities for proper disposal and recycling methods for large paint containers.
Based on the typical coverage of 400 sq ft per gallon (3.78L), this pail (~4.84 gallons) should cover approximately 1900-1950 sq ft with one coat. Always check the label for specifics, as coverage depends on surface porosity and application method. Remember to factor in needing two coats for many projects.
Q2: How do I ensure the pastel color is identical if I use multiple pails?
It is essential to “box” the paint. This means pouring all pails tinted to the same color into one larger container (like a clean 5-gallon bucket if needed, or intermixing portions between pails) and mixing thoroughly before application. This averages out any minuscule differences between tinted batches.
