Application Tips (General Guidance – Refer to Can for Full Instructions):

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is dry and free of old finishes in poor condition, paint, wax, grease, polish, dirt, or other foreign matter. Sand to obtain a smooth, uniform surface. Remove all dust.   
2. Staining (Optional): If desired, apply Minwax stain to unfinished wood surfaces. Follow directions for application and ensure the stain is completely dry before applying spar urethane.
3. Stir Product: Stir Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane thoroughly before and during use to ensure any settled solids are re-dissolved. Do NOT shake, as this can introduce bubbles.
4. Application: Apply thin, even coats using a high-quality natural bristle brush (recommended for solvent-based/oil-modified finishes).
5. Number of Coats: Apply multiple thin coats (typically 2-3 for general use, potentially more for heavy exposure areas or outdoor items) for best protection.
