Recommended Surfaces: Properly prepared exterior surfaces including wood, hardboard, aluminum siding, vinyl siding, masonry, brick, stucco, cement composition panels, and primed metal. Not for use on floors.
Surface Preparation: Remove surface contaminants with an appropriate cleaner, rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry completely. Scrape away loose or peeling paint and sand damaged areas smooth. Dull glossy surfaces by sanding. Seal stains (rust, tannin bleed, etc.) with an appropriate stain-blocking primer before painting. Caulk around windows, doors, and other openings after spot priming any bare surfaces. Knots and some woods (like redwood, cedar) contain tannins; the first coat may show some staining, but a second coat will typically provide a uniform appearance. If staining persists, spot prime severe areas with a quality stain-blocking primer.
Application Instructions: Stir paint thoroughly before and during use. If using multiple containers, intermix them to ensure color uniformity. Apply only when paint, surface, and air temperatures are between 35°F and 90°F (2°C – 32°C) and expected to remain so during the entire application and drying time. Do not paint if temperatures are expected to drop below 35°F (2°C) within 48 hours of application or when heavy dew or precipitation is expected in the next 2.5 hours. Apply with a premium-quality brush or roller.

Functionally, they are likely the same brilliant white color. This version is marketed as a finished, ready-to-use “White,” whereas a “White Base” is explicitly designed to also be a base for tinting into other light colors. If you only want white, either product will work perfectly.
Q2: Is a semi-gloss finish a good choice for my exterior siding?
Semi-gloss provides excellent durability and is very easy to clean, making it a great choice for high-traffic areas like doors and trim.
