Valspar Pro-Hide Gold Ultra Interior Self-Priming Paint is the professional’s top selection for achieving rich, sophisticated colors with a subtle finish. This Tint Base provides a popular Eggshell sheen – offering low reflectivity with good durability – and features a Zero VOC* formula ideal for occupied spaces. (Colorants added will increase VOC level)   

Please Note: This is a Tint Base (often Deep/Accent Base). It contins minimal white pigment and must be tinted at the point of purchase with colorants to create your desired medium-to-deep or vibrant shade. It cannot be used untinted or for light/pastel colors.

Once tinted, Pro-Hide Gold Ultra delivers a smooth, uniform finish even in deeper colors, with efficient application via spray, brush, or roller. Its durable formula provides dependable hide (multiple coats often needed for deep colors) and maintains the line’s excellent touch-up capabilities, important for maintaining walls with richer hues. The eggshell finish offers some washability while minimizing glare.  

Recommended Surfaces: Properly prepared interior walls, trim, and ceilings of previously painted or bare drywall, plaster, masonry, wood, and primed metal. Suitable for accent walls or rooms where a deep color with low sheen is desired.   

Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean the surface and allow it to dry completely. Remove any existing wallpaper and all loose or peeling paint. Scrape and sand damaged paint areas smooth. Ensure glossy surfaces are sanded dull for proper adhesion. Smoother surfaces are recommended for eggshell.

Application Instructions: Stir tinted paint thoroughly before and during application. Always intermix (box) multiple containers tinted to the same deep color before starting application to ensure absolute color consistency. Apply only when surface, air, and product temperatures are between 50°F and 90°F (10°C – 32°C). Use a premium-quality brush, a synthetic roller cover (e.g., 3/8″ – 1/2″ nap), or an airless sprayer (Recommended: 2000 PSI, .015″ – .019″ tip). Thinning not typically required. If rolling, paint the ceiling first, then walls. Work in manageable sections, applying paint in an “N” or “W” pattern, then finish with light, even roller strokes in one direction. Deep or bright colors usually require multiple coats (2 or more).

Clean-up & Disposal: Clean tools and spills immediately with warm, soapy water. Do not pour unused paint down the drain. Consult local authorities for proper disposal and recycling methods.
